Benson Henderson vs. Varner for the WEC Lightweight Title

Hey all of you here in MTX MMA land I wanted to take a few minutes out of my day to let you know about an important fight we have coming up. About a year and a half ago we separated from some of the people that we entered into the sport of MMA with. A long story made short, we are a company of good people and we need to associate ourselves with good people. We began the rebuilding process here at MTX MMA. One of our first new team members was Ben Henderson. It took about two minutes to know Benson was right for MTX. He had a ton of honor and his faith was strong.

Ben was essentially unknown to most of the MMA world but my business partner, who helped build this great team, assured me that not only was Benson a solid person, but he was a great fighter that could go far. I asked him, "Can Ben bring the WEC belt back to MTX MMA?" His answer was, “Ben can bring the UFC belt, he just needs MTX's support and time.” As most people in the MMA community know, supporting fighters who are good people is something we enjoy doing. When Ben got signed to the WEC (not long after we started working with him) he promised that he would dedicate himself to reaching the top and bringing that WEC World Title back to MTX MMA.

Now in a very short period of time Ben has done what many thought to be impossible. He went through TOUGH fighters on his way to earn a shot at Cerrone for the Interim WEC Lightweight Title. Winning that fight, and winning the way he did, catapulted Benson to be known by many in the MMA community. They now know what his coaches, management, and we at MTX believed he could accomplish. Some companies sponsor accomplished fighters in hopes of attaching themselves to winning. At MTX MMA, we would rather show the world that we know what it takes to become a winner by supporting fighters that need a little extra help and providing what they need to become champions. We would rather help build them from the ground up much like we did with Varner. We were their before the belt and would have been there after if things had worked out differently.

Ben Henderson is our guy now. We will continue to support his quest, our quest and bring some honor and integrity back to the WEC Lightweight Title. Make sure you stop by Benson's website at www.smoothben.com or follow him on Twitter at www.twitter.com/smoothone155 . He is a class act and we are proud to be supporting the next WEC Light Weight Title Holder.

Well spoken Loyd and I have watched Henderson and agree that he is a well rounded fighter with alot of spirit. It will be great to see the belt on someone with character and morals and strong faith. I look forward to the fight and know from watching Benson he will put his heart and soul into it. I have alot of respect for MTX and know that there have been many fighters that have benefited from you and your company and the one's with you now are well rounded and respectful. You statement says it all Loyd and may MTX soon have the WEC belt back.

Ben Henderson is a good man and a great fighter. He is a class act, and i have trained with him many times and he is a complete athlete. Nothing could ever be said bad about Ben. He will beat Jamie, and he will hold the WEC gold for a long long time. Best of luck to Ben.
