Both MTX MMA Fighters won their fights at the PPV event in Sacramento, CA on April 24th. Congrats to Tyler Toner and Benson "Smooth" Henderson on their victories.

Tyler Toner defeated Brandon Visher by TKO at 2:36 in the 1st round and Ben Henderson finished Donald Cerrone by guillotine choke at 1:57 in the 1st round in a rematch from their epic battle in 2009. This was Ben's first title defense as teh WEC Lightweight Champ.

On Friday, February 26th, Canadian Sarah Kaufman (11-0), former ballet dancer turned undefeated professional MMA star, became the first Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Champ. She won the title via a five round unanimous decision over Japan's Takayo Hashi. This fight was the main event at Strikeforce Challengers in San Jose, CA and was broadcast live on Showtime.

I recently went in to vote for the different categories of the World Mixed Martial Arts Awards 2009 and was VERY disappointed in the Fight of the Year nominations. While the fights that were finalists were decent fights, I don't understand how Henderson vs. Cerrone could not be on the list.
